The Sign

Concept Moving Image (Team work)
Express the transition between consciousness and subconsciousness in the brain through the ''sign" in our daily life. I am in charge of the role of director and cinematographer.

Subconscious & Conscious

Your awareness of yourself and the world around you are part of your consciousness.

The unconscious can include repressed feelings, hidden memories, habits, thoughts, desires, and reactions. The conscious mind involves all of the things that you are currently aware of and thinking about. It is somewhat akin to short-term memory and is limited in terms of capacity. The subconscious mind. Things that we might not be presently aware of but that we can pull into conscious awareness when needed. It can be considered it as the storehouse of all remembered experiences, impressions that are left on the mind by such experiences, and tendencies that are awakened or reinforced by these impressions.

Spilt-screen display shows the difference and the relation between them. To see the transition of subconsciousness in concept.
Use the ''sign'' as a medium to represent the transformation of subconscious to conscious. ''Sign'' can be seen in our daily life.If subconscious is trying to send a message through the ''sign'' to the conscious, that can become the memory.

Two screens can show the relationship between subconscious and conscious. ''subconscious'' on the right, ''conscious'' is the left one. Comparing the concept of subconscious and conscious. The image takes five "signs": the footprint, the traces of tree's growth ring, wind's mark, water's wave and trails of wheels on the ground.
